Entry 14:

Despite the bitter cold, excavation of the outer surfaces has gone beyond our wildest expectations! To think this gem of a discovery has been sitting here undisturbed for millenia in these cold mountians just waiting for the time our spades and pics would reveal it's glory! To think of all of the people who have lived in the nearby villages who have passed by this structure when it was buried under dirt and snow without realizing what had lain beneath, and if that old sheperhed had not seen an exposed surface and it's exposed artwork...it may have rested undisturbed for centuries more! Based on the outline of the structure and the artwork, I believe that it was built by a Precursor people, perhaps not the same as the founders of the Lost City..but undoubltly a close relation..perhaps an offshoot that developed it's own culture. I have heard many legends the villagers have told of ancient kings who ruled this wasteland who were renowned for their wisdom and skill in war. The stone pyramid seems to be a very advanced struture for the time period, perhaps it was meant to be a monument perhaps? The workers whisper of gold, and my Hammer friends feel
that it may be a tomb of some sort, but I'm not assuming anything until we can get more information, in the meantime I've brought more guards to insure that there wont be any pilfering of any artifacts discovered by the local laborers. I've also have a new guest in the form of Friend Kricheck-a Mechansit engineer and an expert in antiquites. At first he seemed irritated by being trailed wherever he went by two members of my bodygaurd, but after seeing the Hammers glaring angrily at him while assiting the workmen-he seems quite happy to have the protection. I believe in the Builder, but I'm not going to get sucked into sectarian disputes while I'm trying to get the best help I can in this great endeavor so I've insured my men will keep them apart and everything in good order. Soon the top of the structure will be clear and we can see about entering this ancient place-who knows what wonders we will find.
